How do I bid in a live auction?

When your auction is about to start, the ‘Connect to Auction’ button on the auction’s catalogue page will change to ‘Bid Live Now.’ Ensure you are registered for the auction and approved by the auctioneer to participate.

Joining the Auction:

1. Click ‘Bid Live Now’: This will take you to the live auction interface.
2. Enter Your Password: Log in to access the auction.
3. Listen to the Auctioneer: Click the speaker icon to hear the auctioneer (this appears only if audio is available).
4. Watch the Live Stream: If the auctioneer is broadcasting video, the live stream will automatically display in the top right corner of your screen.

Placing Your Bid:

1. Wait for the Bid Amount: Observe the amount you wish to bid as it appears on the screen.
2. Click the Bid Button: Click the blue bid button to place a bid for the amount shown.
3. Check Your Status:
   • In the Lead: If you're the highest bidder, the bid button will turn green with a message saying 'You are in the lead.'
   • Outbid: If someone else bids higher, the blue bid button will reappear, allowing you to place a new bid.

After Winning:

• The auction house will usually contact you to arrange payment and delivery. For a quicker process, you may choose to contact them directly.
