Welcome to the world leaders in commercial and industrial online auctions, bringing you the widest range in plant & machinery, metalworking, woodworking, agricultural & industrial equipment, commercial vehicles and much more.
As the UK arm of the global liquidation brand BidSpotter, we support a network of UK auction houses which collectively sell more than £40m worth of assets every year. So from tractors to Transits, CNC machines to cranes, forklifts to factory fixtures and fittings - whatever you’re looking for, you’ll find it and more at BidSpotter.
On our site, you can search and browse items from hundreds of industrial and commercial auctioneers in one hit – then bid online to win items at incredibly low prices.
We have three types of auction:
Live auctions are the real deal, with audio and video feeds connecting you to the auction as it happens, so you can bid and be part of the action from the comfort of your home or office.
Timed auctions are online-only and don’t have an auctioneer calling the sale. Instead, they have a start and end time, and whoever has the highest online bid at the end wins.
Tender auctions are also online-only but you are not informed if you have been outbid or if you are in the lead. Simply place your best bid for each lot you are interested in and await the close of the auction where you will be contacted by the auctioneer if successful.
STEP 1 – SEARCH
If you know what you’re looking for, type it into the big search box on the homepage or at the top of any page on the site.
You can also browse through our categories using “Browse By Category” at the top of any page. Use the filters on the left of the screen to hone your search.
You can add items you’re interested in to your Watch List so you can view them all together in your My BidSpotter account.
Why not set up an Auction Alert using the button at the top of the page? We’ll email you when new items that match your search are added to the site, so you’re always in the know.
STEP 2 – BID
Once you’ve found what you’re looking for, it’s time to get bidding. First you need to create an account on BidSpotter and then register with the auctioneer selling the assets you are interested in.
Before you bid, it’s best to check out the features and conditions of your item – and we’ve made it really easy with our ‘Ask a question’ tool letting you talk directly to each Auctioneer (you’ll find it on the lot’s details page). After all, bidding at auction is a contractual commitment to buy and, unlike online shopping, you can’t return items you bid on unless they’re materially different to their catalogue description.
Once you’re happy, there are a couple of ways to place your bid (depending on the type of auction):
Place a max bid – let us know the highest amount you're willing to pay and we'll bid for you, just enough to keep you in the lead up to your max bid. It’s the most convenient way to bid at auction. Read more about max bids.
Bid live – connect to a live auction in real-time and experience the atmosphere of the auction environment with live audio and video feeds. Engage with and bid at the auction directly with our live bidding panel. Read more about live bidding.
STEP 3 – WIN
In timed auctions and some live auctions, we'll email you if someone bids more than you, so you have the chance to increase your max bid. Keep an eye on your inbox so you have a chance to get your hands on the item you want.
For the best chance to win in a live auction, we recommend logging on when the auction is taking place and bidding live.
You can keep track of all your wins by logging in to My Bid Spotter. Once the win is verified, the auctioneer will send you an invoice with details of your items and any further information about collection or delivery.
